As many as 22 COVID-19 patients have died at Dr. Zakir Hussain Hospital in Nashik, Maharashtra on April 21, 2021.
The patients were on life support and died due to an acute shortage of oxygen following the leakage of the gas from an Oxygen tanker.
Rajesh Tope, the State Health Minister, attributed the cause to the malfunctioning of a valve in an Oxygen tanker and ordered a probe into the incident to find out the person responsible for the negligence.
According to the sources, the incident took place sometime around noon. The leakage from an oxygen tank disrupted the oxygen supply for half an hour.
