40 Unmarried Girls Dubbed Pregnant in Varanasi!

In a bizarre twist of events that has raised eyebrows and sparked outrage, Anganwadi workers in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, have been caught red-handed registering 40 unmarried girls as pregnant women in an apparent attempt to siphon off funds from government schemes. Yes, you heard that right—this scandal sounds straight out of a soap opera!
The scandal came to light when shocking messages were sent to the families of girls in the village of Ramanna Malhiya, revealing that these young girls were being improperly categorized under the Ministry of Child Development's Nutrition Campaign initiative. The message detailed the benefits available to breastfeeding mothers, including hot meals, rations, consultations, and advice on child health, leaving families utterly bewildered.
Upon questioning Anganwadi worker Sumanlata, it was revealed that she had collected Aadhaar photocopies from the girls under the pretense of linking them to voter ID cards. She then falsely registered them as pregnant to misappropriate nutritional supplies intended for actual mothers.
In response to a complaint lodged by the families, Chief Development Officer Himanshu Nagpal has ordered an investigation. The Block Development Officer is now looking into whether any items were distributed under the names of these girls. Nagpal stated that further action would be taken based on the investigation's findings.
