Coimbatore, A batch of 99 defence personnel from the Indian Armed Forces successfully completed a 15-day Classical Hatha Yoga “Train the Trainer” program conducted by Sadhguru Gurukulam at the Isha Yoga Center.

The group included 78 personnel from the Indian Navy and 21 from the Indian Army. The participants are now equipped to bring these practices back to their respective units, extending the benefits of yoga across defence communities.

The program, held from March 23 to April 6, offered intensive training in classical yogic practices such as Upa Yoga, Surya Kriya, Angamardana, and Inner Engineering Online. The focus was on enhancing physical resilience, mental clarity, and emotional balance, while also enabling participants to share these practices with others.

The initiative aligns with Sadhguru’s vision of making classical hatha yoga accessible to defence personnel, supporting their wellbeing and inner strength as they serve the nation.

Participants highlighted the transformative impact of the program. Captain Shrikant Joshi of the Indian Navy noted that the training offered “physical resilience, mental peace, and inner exploration,” adding that it helps individuals remain composed under pressure and perform effectively in demanding environments.

Commander Rahul Jaiswal shared that the program reshaped his understanding of yoga, emphasizing its role as an inner process rather than just physical exercise. Lieutenant Anjali Goyal also reported improvements in both mental calmness and physical flexibility.

Beyond the training sessions, participants engaged in activities at the Isha Yoga Center, including visits to Isha Vidhya, Dhyanalinga, and Linga Bhairavi. They also participated in Annadhanam at Biksha Hall, serving meals as an act of gratitude.

With more than 700 defence personnel trained so far, the program reflects a growing effort to integrate holistic wellbeing practices within the armed forces.
