'They Tried to Burn Him Alive': AAP's Serious Allegation After Attack on Arvind Kejriwal
Former Chief Minister of Delhi and national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party, Arvind Kejriwal, was attacked on Saturday, November 30, while leading a padyatra in the Greater Kailash area of Delhi. AAP minister Saurabh Bharadwaj has accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) with serious allegations of trying to set him on fire. Today, right in the heart of Delhi, they tried to burn Arvind Kejriwal alive. This is a very serious matter," said Bharadwaj.
Kejriwal was on padyatra in the Savitri Nagar locality where he was interacting with thousands of people, including women, elderly, and children who had come out to meet him. It was during this time that one individual attacked Kejriwal by throwing spirit at him and attempting to ignite him with a matchstick. Bharadwaj, who was present with Kejriwal during the attack, confirmed that the attacker had a bottle of spirit in one hand and a matchbox in the other. While the attacker was able to throw the spirit, the fire did not catch.
Describing the incident as an attempt to "burn Kejriwal alive," Bharadwaj emphasized the gravity of the situation. "This is not the first time an attack like this has happened," he added, referring to previous incidents where Kejriwal was targeted, including an attack in Vikas Puri and a firing incident in Nangloi. Bharadwaj accused the BJP of resorting to desperate measures as it faces defeat in the upcoming elections.

Bharadwaj further claimed that the attacker is Ashok Kumar, who is officially a member of the BJP. He showed pictures of the assailant from his Facebook, saying, "The BJP is losing in Delhi and now they are panicking." He also added the fact that the rallies as well as padyatras of the BJP were never attacked.
The AAP leader stated that incidents like this reveal the frustration and hopelessness of the BJP due to what it thinks will happen concerning its defeat in Delhi. The violence has been widely condemned on all political platforms, along with a call for timely justice.
