ACP Mohsin Khan Removed After IIT Kanpur Student Accuses Him of Sexual Assault, FIR to be Filed

Kanpur has witnessed an IIT student levying an allegation of sexual assault on the ACP Mohsin Khan. The girl student who was studying at IIT Kanpur for her undergraduate degree in Cyber Crime and Criminology lodged a formal complaint to the Police Commissioner. As a result, a preliminary inquiry started immediately in this case.

Reports say that the ACP Mohsin Khan, who was earlier in cases of cyber crime in Kanpur's Collector Ganj area, had become close with the student. The student has charged that Khan had lured her to a romantic relationship and thereafter raped her. The ACP's marriage and other facts of life came to light with the complaint of the student.

When the complaint was received, Police Commissioner instructed a comprehensive probe by female officers who include DCP and ACP who questioned the student for over two hours in a closed room. After the probe, allegations were found to be valid. Therefore, the ACP Mohsin Khan has been dismissed from his job and the Police Commissioner, Akhil Kumar, has given the registration of an FIR against him.
