Actor Siddique Seeks Anticipatory Bail in Rape Case, Claims Allegations Are Baseless

Kochi: Actor Siddique has filed an anticipatory bail plea in the Kerala High Court, seeking protection from arrest in a rape case filed by a young actress. In his petition, Siddique contends that the allegations are baseless and have been resurrected merely to defame him. He argues that the accusations were initially raised five years ago on social media without any mention of rape, and the current charges are an attempt to malign his reputation.
The case took a serious turn when the Special Investigation Team (SIT) visited the Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram, where the alleged incident occurred. The complainant identified the room where the incident allegedly took place, and the investigation team confirmed that Siddique stayed in Room 101 D on January 28, 2016. The SIT also recorded the statement of a friend who accompanied the complainant to the hotel, and the entire evidence collection process was documented on video.
The investigation team has indicated that they will proceed with further legal actions, including Siddique's possible arrest, once all evidence is reviewed. The investigation is based on the Supreme Court's ruling that the testimony of a survivor is sufficient to pursue a case.
Siddique's anticipatory bail plea requests that his arrest be stayed until the High Court reaches a decision on the matter.
