Deadly Collision on Agra-Lucknow Expressway: 6 Killed, 40 Injured as Sleeper Bus Crashes into Truck
A tragic collision occurred on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway resulting in the death of six people and injuring forty others. The accident occurred on Expressway 141 at the Auraiya Border in the Sakrava Thana Kshetra of Kannauj district when a sleeper bus collided with a truck.
Emergency services were quick to respond to the scene. The injured were immediately taken by the police to Safai Medical College and Tirwa for medical attention. Deputy Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of Police (SP) reached the accident site to monitor the rescue and relief operations.
The Minister of Jal Shakti, Swatantra Dev Singh, was passing by the area when the rescue operation was going on. Eyewitnesses said that Minister Singh stopped his journey and came forward to help the victims. He himself took care to get the injured to nearby hospitals without any delay, showing great leadership and humanity.
The authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports indicate that the cause of the mishap may be excessive speed or driver fatigue, but a full investigation is under way to establish the exact circumstances.
