Akhilesh Yadav: India Bloc Can Write New History in Haryana Elections
Lucknow, September 6 — Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav expressed confidence that the unity of the India Bloc could create a new chapter in the Haryana Assembly elections. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Yadav emphasized that this is not a time for exploring political opportunities but a moment for "sacrifice and selflessness."
Yadav criticized the BJP for its "cunning and selfish politics" and highlighted the importance of overcoming the BJP's "negative, communal, and divisive politics" through the collective efforts of the India Bloc members.
As the Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) engage in seat-sharing negotiations for the Haryana elections, Yadav's remarks underscore the competitive nature of the political landscape. In his post, Yadav stated, "This is a historic opportunity to rise above petty politics and make a mark in history. We are ready for any sacrifice for the benefit of Haryana."
He further reiterated his commitment to defeating the BJP, writing, "We have said this before and will continue to say it. This is not about seat-sharing but about understanding the people's pain and frustration and liberating them from the BJP's corrupt and scheming politics."
Yadav criticized the BJP for allegedly setting Haryana's development back by two decades and positioned the India Bloc's victory as essential for the state’s progress and the welfare of its people.
Voting for the Haryana Assembly elections is scheduled for October 5, with results to be announced on October 8. In the previous Assembly elections, the BJP emerged as the largest party and formed a coalition government with the Jananayak Janata Party (JJP). However, the BJP-JJP alliance broke ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.
