A disturbing incident has come to light with Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh reporting death threats along with a demand for Rs 50 lakh in extortion. The actress, who has made her mark with quite prominent roles in the Bhojpuri film industry, lodged a written complaint at the Danapur police station in Patna, Bihar, detailing the threats against her on November 12, 2024.
A controversy has cropped up after singer and Bigg Boss 11 contestant Akshara Singh received blackmail threats through two separate phone calls late on the night of November 11, between 12:20 and 12:21 am. The caller demanded she pay Rs 50 lakh within two days, threatening serious harm if she didn't pay, according to Akshara.
The police have initiated a probe into the extortion threats.
After the complaint, investigations have been started from the Patna police to identify and apprehend the caller. Confirming the case registered for extortion on the basis of Akshara Singh's statement, in-charge Danapur police station Prashant Kumar Bhardwaj said, "We are tracking the mobile numbers from where these calls were made in the hope of solving this case soon.".
On the complaint filed by the actress Akshara Singh, we have registered a case of extortion and investigations are on at full blast. We are working out identifying the person behind such calls and a breakthrough is expected soon," said Bhardwaj.
