The Amarnath Yatra 2025—one of the most sacred pilgrimages in India—is now open for registration. Every year, lakhs of devotees travel to the Amarnath Cave in Jammu and Kashmir, where they seek blessings from the naturally formed Shivling. If you’re planning to be a part of this holy journey, you must register in advance to receive official permission.
Amarnath Yatra 2025 Registration Starts From April 14
The registration for Amarnath Yatra 2025 officially began on 14 April 2025 and is available in both online and offline modes. Pilgrims can register through designated bank branches across India or directly through the Shri AmarnathJi Shrine Board (SASB) official website.
The yatra is scheduled to begin on 25 July 2025 and end on 19 August 2025. This year, only 15,000 yatris will be allowed per day, so it’s important to register early to avoid disappointment.
How to Register for Amarnath Yatra 2025
To complete the Amarnath Yatra registration, you will need to submit a few essential documents:
-
A compulsory health certificate (CHC) from an authorised doctor or hospital
-
Valid photo ID proof
-
Passport-size photographs
These are required whether you choose to register online or via an authorized bank branch.
To ensure your journey is smooth and safe, it’s important to meet the age and health criteria set by the SASB. Individuals below 13 years and above 75 years are not permitted. Pregnant women are also advised not to undertake this physically demanding journey.
Since the Amarnath Cave Temple is located at an altitude of over 3,800 meters, make sure you are physically fit, and begin preparing for the high-altitude pilgrimage well in advance.
Why Early Registration Matters
Due to the limited number of daily slots, early registration increases your chances of getting the preferred dates for the Amarnath Yatra. It also ensures you have enough time to complete all formalities and arrange accommodation or transport.
Make sure to carry all required documents and your yatra permit with you during the journey, as checks are conducted along the route.
