Apple's iPhone Production in India Skyrockets by 60%, Reaching ₹1.89 Lakh Crore in 2024-25

Apple India has achieved a remarkable 60% year-on-year increase in iPhone production, reaching a turnover of approximately ₹1.89 lakh crore for the financial year ending March 31, 2025. This growth underscores India's expanding role in Apple's global manufacturing strategy.

Significant Production Growth

Apple's production in India escalated by 60% during the 2024-25 fiscal year, reflecting the company's efforts to diversify its manufacturing base beyond China.

Substantial Exports

Exports accounted for ₹1.5 lakh crore of the production value, emphasizing India's importance as an export hub. The majority of these exports were directed to the United States, benefiting from favorable trade policies.

Strategic Shift Amid Tariffs

In response to the US-China tariff war, Apple is diversifying its production, with India-made smartphones benefiting from lower US duties. This strategic move aims to mitigate the impact of increased tariffs on Chinese imports.

Robust Export Contributions

Apple's supply chain partners, including Foxconn, Tata Electronics, and Pegatron, significantly contributed to India's smartphone exports, with Foxconn alone accounting for nearly 50% of the shipments. These collaborations have strengthened India's position in the global tech supply chain.

This strategic expansion not only enhances India's status as a manufacturing hub but also aligns with Apple's objectives to diversify its supply chain and reduce reliance on a single country.
