The First Information Report (FIR) filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in the drugs case involving actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son, has revealed that KP Gosavi, who was appointed as an independent witness of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), along with his associate Sanvile D’Souza, allegedly conspired to demand Rs 25 crore from Aryan Khan’s family on behalf of Sameer Wankhede, the then Zonal Director of the NCB.
According to the FIR, the settlement amount was eventually adjusted to Rs 18 crore. The report mentioned that KP Gosavi and Sanvile D’Souza accepted a bribe of Rs 50 lakh, but Gosavi later returned a portion of this initial payment after a few hours.
The First Information Report (FIR) is derived from the findings of the Special Enquiry Team (SET) established by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The SET was formed after the first witness of the case, Prabhakar Sail, made allegations that Wankhede and Gosavi conspired to extort a significant sum from Aryan Khan’s family.
According to the FIR, Wankhede, along with two members of his team, allegedly failed to adhere to the proper investigative procedures in the case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has registered a case against Wankhede and others based on a complaint from the NCB, charging them with offenses including criminal conspiracy (Section 120-B of the Indian Penal Code), extortion (Section 388 IPC), and bribery under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
