Detailed Inspection and Sample Collection
On Saturday, the ASI team started its survey from Kalki Vishnu Temple; the team viewed sculptures and other artifacts. The surveying of Krishna Koop will also be included in their survey list, which the team has planned about the historical importance of Sambhal. Sambhal SDM Vandana Mishra confirmed that the carbon dating samples were taken from the ancient Shiva temple and a nearby well on Friday. The survey took 8-10 hours and included inspections of five pilgrimage sites and 19 wells.
Restoration and Preservation Efforts
This survey falls under the larger campaign known as "Sambhal Teerth," wherein the ancient temples and pilgrimages are to be restored and revitalized. According to Mani Bhushan Tiwari, the Executive Engineer of Sambhal Municipality, "This includes the removal of encroachments, excavation, and beautification at all the sites in order to preserve our cultural and religious traditions.".
