Badlapur Encounter: Chance or Justice for the Victims?
In Maharashtra, the encounter of sexual assault accused Akshay Shinde raises crucial questions: Was it a mere coincidence, or part of a broader quest for justice for the victims? As the opposition voices its concerns, the Bombay High Court has also directed pointed inquiries towards the police regarding the encounter.
During a recent hearing, the High Court posed critical questions, such as how a bullet struck the accused's head when police are trained on where to aim. With four officers present, how could they not subdue a seemingly weak individual? The police reported that Shinde fired three shots, yet only one hit its mark. The court emphasized that not just anyone can handle a revolver, indicating suspicions about the circumstances of the encounter.
The High Court has instructed Maharashtra police to present answers to these pressing questions by the next hearing, as it seeks to determine whether the encounter was orchestrated or truly by chance.
Meanwhile, celebrations erupted at Badlapur Railway Station as locals distributed sweets and lit firecrackers in joy, expressing gratitude to the Eknath Shinde government and lauding Home Minister Devendra Fadnavis through posters.
