The Bihar government suddenly removed DGP Alok Raj from his position only three months after the appointment. Vinay Kumar, a 1991 batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the new DGP of Bihar. The official notification of this significant reshuffle was issued late Friday evening.

Alok Raj Reshuffled

Alok Raj is a 1989-batch IPS officer who was shifted as Director-General and Chairman-cum-Managing Director of the Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation. This drastic transfer makes Alok Raj one of the shortest-serving DGPs in Bihar's history.

Addl Changes

The government also announced changes in other key positions. Senior IPS officer Jitendra Singh Gangwar, previously Director-General and Commissioner of Civil Defense, has been appointed as the Director-General of the Vigilance Investigation Bureau. He will retain his additional charge of Civil Defense.

About Vinay Kumar

Vinay Kumar, known for his integrity and efficiency, becomes Bihar's DGP. He has earlier served as the DG of Bihar Police Building Construction Corporation and will hold this position for the next two years. This reshuffle underscores the government's focus on ensuring effective leadership within the state's police force.
