Bomb Threats Target Indigo and Vistara Flights: 20 Flights on High Alert!
It’s a turbulent time in the skies as a major bomb scare has put 20 flights on high alert, including 10 from Indigo Airlines and 10 from Vistara. The threats, mostly targeting international routes, have been causing panic for the past week, with over 100 planes receiving bomb threats so far. But what’s behind this wave of threats?
Bomb Threats Target International Flights The latest threat has put these 20 flights in the crosshairs, creating a storm of security concerns. Among the targeted Indigo flights are routes like Delhi-Jeddah, Istanbul-Delhi, and Bangalore-Jeddah. Vistara flights are also feeling the heat, with similar threats aimed at their international operations.
Here’s a quick rundown of some of the Indigo flights on high alert:
6E-63 Delhi-Jeddah
6E-12 Istanbul-Delhi
6E-164 Mangalore-Mumbai
6E-118 Lucknow-Pune
6E-75 Ahmedabad-Jeddah
Recent Threats Stir Panic The threats aren’t just a one-off event. On Monday, several Indigo flights received bomb threats, sending passengers into a frenzy as flights were immediately grounded and passengers safely evacuated. Both Indigo and Vistara confirmed that they followed all safety protocols in collaboration with security agencies.
Social media has become the go-to platform for these threats, creating an even bigger headache for aviation security. Vistara spokespersons confirmed that their flights also received similar warnings, and all security procedures were followed to the letter.
A Week of Terror in the Skies For the past week, India’s aviation sector has been dealing with more than 100 bomb threats, leaving officials scrambling to ensure passenger safety. Though most of these threats appear to be false alarms, the government isn’t taking any chances. Civil Aviation Minister K. Ramamohan Naidu emphasized that bomb threats, even if hoaxes, can’t be taken lightly.
The government is planning to take legislative action, including adding threat-makers to the no-fly list, to combat these aviation security challenges. Amendments to the Aviation Security Act of 1982 are also on the table, which would allow authorities to start investigations and make arrests without a court order if a threat is made while a plane is on the ground.
