BPSC Students Protest in Patna, Stopped by Police from Marching to CM’s Residence
The protest, led by Jan Suraj leader Prashant Kishor, marched towards the Chief Minister's residence in Patna as BPSC aspirants in Bihar protested demanding re-conduct of the BPSC examination. The march began after a student parliament, convened at Gandhi Maidan, decided to proceed with the march.
Police halted the march
The police stopped the students mid-march, saying that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is in Delhi to meet the family of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Security at the CM's residence was also heightened to prevent any untoward incidents.
Background of the Protest
This comes after the series of meetings that Prashant Kishor held with the aspirants. Earlier, the students planned a march to Raj Bhavan but decided not to after discussion. They, therefore, converged at Gandhi Maidan and resolved to proceed towards the CM's house.
