Chaos at Devendra Fadnavis Oath Ceremony: In a shocking incident, many people were robbed during the big oath-taking ceremony of Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis in Mumbai. Reports say at least 13 people have lost their valuables which include gold chains and cash amounting to over Rs 12 lakh. This happened on Thursday at Azad Maidan venue which was thronged by more than 50,000 people for the ceremony.

As the programme began, the crowd went haywire and there were reports of people complaining of missing valuables. There were reports of gold chains, money, and purses that were stolen. The police stated that the victims have lodged FIRs, which are currently under investigation. CCTV footages from the place are being reviewed to find out the culprits.

Among the victims was 64-year-old Shivaji Gawali from Kandivali, who reported that his 30-gram gold chain was missing after he left the venue through gate no. 2. Other victims included Jaydevi Upadhyay, 50, from Andheri, who lost her 20-gram gold chain, and Santosh Lachke, 61, from Fort, whose 17-gram chain was stolen. Besides chains, many people lodged complaints about missing cash in the heist. Among them was Vile Parle's Anant Koli, 47, who said that Rs 20,000 was stolen from his purse.

This incident raised further concerns over the security held for such prominent events. While police continue with their investigations, the victims are optimistic that the perpetrators would be quickly identified and the stolen goods recovered. It was a high-profile event in which celebrities and political dignitaries attended to celebrate the centenary birthday of the revered Baraza.
