Chhattisgarh News: Guard Murders Man at BJP Leader's Farmhouse Over Repeated Advances Towards Wife

In a shocking incident, a man named Sanjay Thakur was murdered at the farmhouse of BJP leader and state spokesperson Devalal Thakur in the village of Kotera, under the jurisdiction of Dondi Lohara police station. The police swiftly arrested the accused, Bhuneswar Netam, within hours of the crime.
Additional Superintendent of Police Ashok Kumar Joshi provided details of the case, revealing that the murder followed a heated argument at the farmhouse. The accused, Bhuneswar Netam, who had previously served jail time for murder, was apprehended by the police.
Guard Turned Murderer
The incident came to light when the blood-soaked body of 50-year-old Sanjay Thakur was discovered at the farmhouse. The complainant, Keshav Thakur, registered the crime at the local police station. A forensic team was dispatched to inspect the crime scene, and a team was formed to investigate the surrounding rural areas.
During the investigation, it was found that an argument had occurred between Bhuneswar Netam, the farmhouse guard, and Sanjay Thakur. Upon interrogation, Bhuneswar initially gave evasive answers but eventually confessed to the crime under intense questioning.

Repeated Advances Towards Wife Led to Murder
According to the police, on the evening of the incident, Bhuneswar Netam, Keshav Thakur, and Sanjay Thakur were drinking alcohol at the farmhouse. Sanjay repeatedly approached Bhuneswar’s wife, who was cooking nearby, with inappropriate intentions. This led to a confrontation between Bhuneswar and Sanjay. Later that night, Keshav and Bhuneswar’s wife left the farmhouse, leaving Bhuneswar and Sanjay alone. The argument resumed, with Sanjay making inappropriate comments about Bhuneswar's wife. In a fit of rage, Bhuneswar struck Sanjay on the head with an axe, killing him instantly.
Previous Murder Conviction
It was revealed that Bhuneswar Netam had a prior conviction for murder. The Additional Superintendent of Police confirmed Bhuneswar's arrest and stated that further legal action was being taken. The case was solved swiftly, thanks to the efforts of Deputy Superintendent of Police Navneet Kaur, Dondi Lohara Station In-Charge Laxmi Jaiswal, Assistant Sub-Inspector Anit Ram Yadav, Head Constable Arvind Yadav, and Constables Rishi Sinha, Dharmendra Sen, and Supesh Salame.
The incident has left the local community in shock, highlighting the severe consequences of unresolved disputes and the importance of addressing domestic issues promptly and effectively.
