China offers India cooperation in dealing with pandemic

Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a message to Prime Minister Narendra Modi offering India cooperation in dealing with Covid-19.

Jinping stresses that China is willing to strengthen anti-pandemic cooperation with India. It also spoke of providing support and help to the country.

During a press briefing Friday, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Wang Wenbin said that China is closely following the evolving epidemic situation in India.

Sending a message of sympathy to India over the worsening situation, he said that China would maximize its efforts to provide support in India’s fight against COVID-19.

Other countries have also pledged help to India. The crisis is deepening with shortage of oxygen cylinders. US had sent essential supplies for the first time since pandemic.

Many world countries will be sending aid to India. Moreover, US, citing extraordinarily high COVID-19 caseload in India will restrict travel from the country.
