China’s People’s Liberation Army (PLA) has abducted a 17-year-old boy from the Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh.
The state MP Tapir Gao informed Wednesday. The teenage boy has been identified as Miram Taron; he was kidnapped by the PLA from the Lungta Jor area on Tuesday.
Taron’s friend Johny Yaiying who managed to escape also informed the authorities about the kidnapping by the Chinese Army.
Both are local hunters from the Zido village. The incident took place near where the Tsangpo River enters India in Arunachal Pradesh, as per the MP.
The Tsangpo River is known as Siang in Arunachal Pradesh and the Brahmaputra in Assam.
It was his friend who reported to the authorities. The MP also said that he has informed the Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik about the boy’s kidnapping.
Earlier in 2020, the Chinese Army had kidnapped five boys from Arunachal Pradesh’s Upper Subansiri district and released them after about a week.
This is the latest incident that has come to the fore at a time when the Indian Army continues to face a tough stand-off with the Chinese Army in eastern Ladakh.
