The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has written a letter to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked him to book Ramdev under sedition for running a misinformation campaign against the COVID-19 vaccine.
“When you (PM Modi) initiated the vaccine rollout, IMA leaders across the country stood first to get COVID-19 vaccine and by this dispelled the vaccine hesitancy,” IMA said.
The doctors’ association also tried to draw PM Modi’s attention to a controversial video of Ramdev, who has claimed around 10, 000 doctors have died due to COVID-19.
“If someone is claiming the allopathic medicine has killed the people, it is an attempt to challenge the Ministry who has issued the protocol for treatment to us,” IMA said, drawing remark of Ramdev from the controversial video.
“This in our opinion is a clear cut case sedition and such persons should be booked immediately without any delay under the charges of sedition,” IMA said.
