CM Devendra Fadnavis Makes Major Announcement: "Ladli Behen Yojana to See Increase in Amount"

CM Devendra Fadnavis: Maharashtra's newly sworn-in Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, made a significant announcement regarding the Ladli Behen Yojana. He revealed that the amount provided under the scheme will be increased from the current ₹1,500 to ₹2,100. The discussion and formal decision on this enhancement will take place during the upcoming budget session.

After swearing-in as CM, Fadnavis, along with Deputy CM Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar, held a meeting, which was the first cabinet session. In a statement issued to the media, Fadnavis said that the developmental momentum Maharashtra experienced in the last two-and-a-half years will continue under the new government. He also clarified that despite the change in the leadership of the government, the vision, direction, and coordination between the Mahayuti parties remain intact.

Fadnavis assured that all promises made during the elections would be fulfilled. He emphasized that the Ladli Behen Yojana, which is presently providing ₹1,500 to women, would be enhanced to ₹2,100. He said further discussion would be held in the budget session for the formal approval of this increase.

While talking to the media on cabinet expansion, Fadnavis stated that the reshuffle will not be a political vendetta but would usher in the state's betterment. The Maharashtra Legislative Assembly is scheduled to convene a special session from 7, 8 and 9 December, and elect the Speaker on the third day. He further asserted that the cabinet expansion will be held prior to the commencement of the session.
