"CM Fadnavis Responsible for Somanath Suryavanshi's Murder," Claims Rahul Gandhi in Maharashtra

During his visit to Parbhani, Maharashtra, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi strongly criticized the state government over the alleged custodial death of Dalit law student Somanath Suryavanshi. Gandhi accused Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis of misleading the state assembly and held him accountable for the incident.

He stated that he has met the victim's family, reviewed the post-mortem reports, and seen the videos and photographs, and all these proofs confirm his death in police custody. He said the student was killed because he was Dalit and stood for the values of the Constitution.

"The RSS ideology is behind the attempt to destroy the Constitution," said Gandhi. He was demanding immediate justice and the punishment of the criminals.

Meanwhile, CM Fadnavis termed the incident "unfortunate" and announced financial aid of ₹10 lakh for Suryavanshi’s family. He also assured strict action against the perpetrators under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA).
