Coronavirus: India records nearly 3 lakh cases in biggest day spike

The coronavirus infection cases in India stand at 2,95,041. The virus has so far killed 2,023 in the last 24 hours.

Many of the states and UTs reported their highest single day rise in cases Tuesday.

As India reels under the second wave of coronavirus, Prime Minister Narendra Modi asked states to use lockdowns only as the last resort.

In his special address to the nation, he also promised to take all necessary steps to control the spread of the COVID-19 in the country.

His assurance comes at a time when the second wave of the COVID-19 is spreading everywhere in the country.
