The United States will be sending the help supplies worth more than 100 million dollars to India. India’s fight against COVID-19 is now being joined by other countries too.
These help supplies from US will begin arriving on Thursday. These will continue until next week.
The essentials include 1,000 oxygen cylinders, 15 million N95 masks and 1 million rapid diagnostic tests, as per a White House statement.
The US has also redirected its own order of AstraZeneca manufacturing supplies to India. This help will allow India to make over 20 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine.
India’s death toll from the COVID-19 surged past 200,000 Wednesday. It is worsening by a shortfall of medical oxygen.
PM Modi Wednesday also inquired about health of IAF personnel. He also informed PM that hospitals under IAF have increased covid-19 facilities and also allowing civilians wherever possible.
