Covid-19 vaccination in India will get a major boost starting this Wednesday. The Centre announced that it will start vaccinating all adults above 60 years of age.
The precaution doses will begin from Wednesday, health minister Mansukh Mandaviya said today.
The government will also vaccinate children in the age group of 12-14 years.
Biological E’s Corbevax will be given to 12-14 years age group.
Moreover, the move comes amid reports of a fresh Covid-19 outbreak in China. The unprecedented wave has imposed strict lockdown in Shenzhen and Shanghai.
India rolled out its vaccination programme against Covid-19 on January 16, 2021. Gradually, this vaccination programme was expanded in phases now including everyone above the age of 18 years.

It is noteworthy here that precaution dose is the third dose of the same vaccine that one was administered with.
Furthermore, India witnessed a steep decline in the number of daily Covid-19 cases. But the increasing complacency among masses may prove dangerous for the country.
We shouldn’t forget to follow the Covid-appropriate behaviour at step of our lives. Also, wearing masks and sanitizing are of utmost importance.
The WHO has been warning against lowering the guards. Health experts world over are also stressing on the importance of sticking to Covid rules.
