Cracks have been discovered on a section of the Badrinath Highway at Joshimath between JP and Marwari as the Kedarnath Temple Committee announced the dates for Shri Kedarnath Dham’s opening doors. According to Chamoli DM Himanshu Khurana, the Badrinath Highway’s JP to Marwari route has developed cracks.
The Border Roads Organization (BRO) has been given instructions to check for cracks and take preventative action, according to Mr. Khurana.
“Complaints concerning cracks in several residences,” according to DM Khurana Joshimath.
He continued, “To determine the exact condition, a team of engineers stationed in Joshimath have been despatched to test the fractures on the houses.
After cracks formed at many homes in Joshimath, indicating subsidence, hundreds of families were relocated to relief centres in secure locations.
The afflicted households of Joshimath have already received relief aid valued at millions of rupees, according to the Uttarakhand government.
According to the Himalayan state’s chief minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, over 3,000 households affected by progressive land subsidence have received assistance.
The Chief Minister further declared that each household has received a non-adjustable one-time special grant of 50,000 from the state catastrophe administration for the transportation of products and urgent needs for their buildings.
Earlier, during a phone call with Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed worry about the situation in Joshimath and pledged all assistance to the state administration in organising rescue and relief efforts.
One of the four ancient pilgrimage destinations known as the “Char Dham,” together with Yamunotri, Gangotri, and Kedarnath, is the Badrinath Dham. It is located in the Uttarakhand town of Badrinath. Every year, it is open for six months (between the end of April and the beginning of November).
