Delhi 2025 Election: In the wake of the arrest of AAP's North Delhi MLA Naresh Balyan, Arvind Kejriwal, the national convener of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), made a significant announcement regarding the 2025 Delhi Assembly elections. He declared that AAP would contest the upcoming polls alone, stating that the party would not enter into any alliances. AAP plans to fight all seats independently in the Delhi Assembly elections.

Kejriwal also commented on the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) decision to organize a "Parivartan Yatra" in Delhi, stating, "Let them do it. Everyone has the right to express themselves in a democracy." He emphasized that democracy allows people to carry out such activities.

Earlier, Kejriwal had criticized the arrest of Naresh Balyan, who was detained on November 30, 2024, despite repeatedly filing complaints against gangsters. Kejriwal claimed that Balyan had been threatened by gangster Kapil Sangwan, who demanded money in exchange for protection. When Balyan reported this to the Delhi Police, instead of taking action against the criminals, the police arrested him.

The Delhi Assembly elections are scheduled for February 2025, where all 70 seats will be contested. AAP is focused on securing a fourth consecutive term in office, while BJP and Congress leaders are expected to intensify their campaigns against the ruling party. In the 2020 elections, AAP won 62 out of 70 seats, while BJP managed to win just 8 seats.
