Cold conditions in Delhi: The city of Delhi and its neighbouring regions are witnessing a cold wave these days.
The extremely chilly conditions have taken the temperatures to below four degrees Celsius for the first time this winter.
As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), through Safdarjung, Delhi’s base station recorded a temperature of 4.6 degrees on Sunday morning, it plunged to 3.3 degrees at Jafarpur and 3.6 degrees at Lodhi Road respectively.
The IMD has also issued a yellow alert for Delhi on Monday; there is a possibility of drizzling on December 24 or 25.
The weather department comes up with different colour-coded warnings. These depict the intensity of weather in a particular place at one point in time.
Based on these, weather warnings are issued after analysing the weather forecast data for a particular region over a few days.
A yellow weather warning indicates severely bad weather. On the other hand, it also suggests that the weather could change for the worse, this may cause disruption in day-to-day activities too.
