Delhi-Dehradun Expressway Nears Completion: Key Features and Updates
Delhi-Dehradun Expressway: The much-awaited Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is nearing completion, and the Khajuri Chowk is going to be one of the defining features of this mega infrastructure project. The expressway will greatly enhance travel between Delhi and Dehradun, providing faster connectivity and smoother travel.

Completion Date: December this year
Speed Limit: 100 km/h for light vehicles

Phase-Wise Construction
The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is under construction in four phases:
Phase 1: Akshardham (Delhi) to UP Border – 32 km
Phase 2: Crossing EPE to Saharanpur Bypass
Phase 3: Saharanpur Bypass to Ganeshpur
Phase 4: Ganeshpur to Dehradun
Over 50% of the construction is complete, and it will not deviate from its course.

Once the expressway comes into operation, it will:
Decrease travel time between Delhi and Dehradun.
Provide an effective road route through Meerut, Saharanpur, and Baghpat.

Landmark Features of Expressway
Khajuri Chowk will be the landmark feature of the expressway, with a metro line connecting the area and a road network planned at the far end. The expressway will also connect to Eastern Peripheral Expressway, to ensure smooth connectivity to multiple areas.
Works in Progress
The Central Road Research Institute (CRRI) is undertaking the construction. The authorities are ensuring that signage and beautification work will be completed in time. The final survey report will decide on the date for opening the expressway to public use.
