 Delhi High Court Warns Wikipedia:

The Delhi High Court has issued a stern warning to Wikipedia, directing its authorized representative to appear in court on October 25. This action comes after the court expressed its displeasure over Wikipedia's failure to comply with a contempt petition filed by ANI. The petition claims that despite a previous court order, Wikipedia has not disclosed the identities of the subscribers responsible for allegedly defamatory edits made on ANI's Wikipedia page.

Wikipedia's counsel cited delays in attendance, stating that the organization is not based in India. The High Court firmly objected to this reasoning, stating that if Wikipedia does not comply with Indian laws, its business dealings in India could be suspended. The court further warned that it may recommend the Indian government block Wikipedia in the country if necessary.

The court made it clear, stating, "If you do not like India, then please do not operate here." This case is centered around the accountability of online platforms regarding their editing processes. The High Court has urged Wikipedia to act responsibly in this matter or face strict consequences.
