Delhi-Meerut Expressway Exit Near ABES College Closed, Alleviating Traffic Congestion

The exit point on the Delhi-Meerut Expressway (DME) near ABES Engineering College has been permanently closed. This move has significantly eased traffic congestion along the route. Previously, this exit point was a bottleneck where vehicles exiting the DME intersected with traffic from Noida Extension, Crossing Republic, and Lal Kuan, leading to frequent accidents.

The closure of the exit point, which was situated on NH-9, has helped reduce traffic jams. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has justified this decision by pointing out that a new exit point has been established 500 meters before the Chhipiyana ROB (Rail Over Bridge). This new exit is intended to serve as a more efficient alternative, leading to the closure of the previous one.

Traffic congestion was a major issue at this location, with long queues of vehicles extending as far as Lal Kuan. The decision to close this exit was made to ensure safer and smoother travel. The closure has already led to a noticeable reduction in traffic jams compared to previous conditions.

Drivers heading towards Crossing Republic, Noida Extension, and Vijaynagar have occasionally found themselves confused upon reaching this closed exit, prompting them to turn back. To assist these drivers, an NHAI mobile team is stationed nearby to guide them and redirect traffic.

In addition to the closure, NHAI has installed signboards to direct vehicles to the new exit point. The authority continues to work on reducing traffic congestion and is planning additional small-scale improvements to further ease travel along this route.
