Delhi murder case: Sahil, Nikki got married in temple in 2020; marriage certificate recovered

As Delhi Police continues to investigate the Najafgarh murder case, another revelation has come to light. According to a report in India Today, Sahil Gehlot and Nikki Yadav got married at Arya Samaj temple in Greater Noida in 2020.

Citing sources in the Delhi Police, the report further said that police have recovered their marriage certificates.

On February 10, 24-year-old Sahil Gehlot strangled his girlfriend Nikki, stuffed her body inside a refrigerator at his dhaba in southwest Delhi. Police said he then went off to marry another woman the same day.

Unhappy with their marriage, Sahil’s family had arranged his wedding in December 2022. They did not revealed to the girl’s family that Sahil had already married Nikki, reported news agency ANI, quoting sources in Delhi Police.

Meanwhile, Delhi police has arrested main accused Sahil Gehlot’s father and four others in the case. “His father has also been arrested on the charges of helping him in the conspiracy,” police said.

“Sahil’s father Virender Singh has been arrested after police found that he knew that his son had allegedly murdered Nikki. He has been booked u/s 120B (criminal conspiracy) of IPC. 4 others incl friend, cousin & brother of accused Sahil Gehlot arrested,” Crime Branch said.
