In the wake of the festive season, Delhi Police Special Cell arrested a Pakistani national from Laxmi Nagar on Tuesday.
An AK-47 rifle was seized from the terrorist. As per the police, the accused was living with a fake identification of an Indian national. He had also obtained Indian identity cards through forged documents.
Rakesh Asthana was monitoring the special cell. “It is a good catch by special cell ahead of the festive season. A big terror plan has been foiled by our team,” Mr Asthana said.
An extra magazine and 60 rounds have also been seized along with one hand grenade and two sophisticated pistols with 50 rounds.
The accused has been identified as Mohd Asraf. He has been booked under relevant provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Explosive Act, Arms Act, and other provisions.
Asraf is a resident of Narowal in Pakistan. A search was also conducted at his current address at Ramesh Park in Laxmi Nagar.
