Faridabad Elections: ₹3.79 Crores Seized as Cops Tighten Security Ahead of Polls!
In Faridabad, police have ramped up security measures ahead of the upcoming elections, resulting in the seizure of ₹3.79 crores in cash since August 16. Inter-state and inter-district checkpoints have been established at 16 locations, supported by 51 static surveillance teams and 51 flying squads.
Cash Seizures and Drug Busts: The police have recorded multiple drug-related offenses, filing 35 NDPS cases and confiscating 39.83 kg of illegal substances, alongside 52 illegal weapons and 38 cartridges from 47 cases under the Arms Act.
Firearms and Vigilance: As part of election security, 4,443 licensed firearms have been deposited, while 68 individuals identified as troublesome have been restricted from participating in the electoral process, including 55 with prior serious offenses.
Deployment of Security Forces: Over 4,500 police personnel, 11 companies of paramilitary forces, and 2 companies of IRB have been deployed to ensure a peaceful election atmosphere.
Community Engagement: More than 100 flag marches have been conducted in villages to mitigate tensions and ensure free and fair elections, with special attention to sensitive polling stations.
Technological Oversight: Modern surveillance technologies, including CCTV, are being employed to monitor all routes and entry points, ensuring a secure environment for voters. Police Commissioner Om Prakash Narwal has urged voters to participate confidently on October 5, reinforcing the commitment to electoral integrity and safety in Faridabad.
