Haldwani Land Scam: People Duped of Crores, MLA Demands Action

Haldwani Land Scam: A major land scam has come to light in Haldwani's Gaulapar area, where around 20 people from the Bhimtal constituency were duped of over ₹1.5 crore by a man named Deepanshu Belwal. The victims, after purchasing land and completing registry formalities, discovered that the seller had no rightful ownership.

Haldwani Land Scam: A major land scam has surfaced in Gaulapar area of Haldwani, where a man named Deepanshu Belwal has duped more than ₹1.5 crore from around 20 people of Bhimtal constituency. The victims purchased land and completed all registry formalities, but later on found that the seller had no rightful ownership. MLA Ram Singh Kaira accompanied the victims to the DIG office, demanding justice and their money back.

Gainers Cheated of ₹1.57 Crore

A land scam has come out of Gaulapar Haldwani, where some around 20 residents of Bhimtal, accompanied by local MLA Ram Singh Kaira, were a victim of fraud in which he was selling land to the buyers. The money which Deepanshu Belwal, from whom they have purchased this land, had accepted amounted to ₹1.57 crores. And in turn, it is proved later that the one selling was having no legal claim to this property.

The Unfolding of the Scam in Gaulapar

The victims, who paid a huge amount of money to buy the land, went into shock after the procedure for registration and submission of the transfer documents was performed on them. During "Dakhil Kharij" (the time to update the official record for land), they were informed that the seller, Deepanshu Belwal, did not hold the rightful ownership of the land. The victims came to understand that they had been taken for a ride into purchasing land that did not rightfully belong to them.

MLA Ram Singh Kaira Intervenes to Get Justice

After the scam was found, the victims met with their local MLA, Ram Singh Kaira. The MLA, along with the victims, went to the DIG office in the Kumaon region and demanded action against the fraudster. Kaira said that the stolen money should be returned to the victims and strict action must be taken against Deepanshu Belwal.

Police Investigation In Process

In response to the complaint, DIG Kumaon, Dr. Yogendra Singh Rawat, assured the victims that a legal investigation would take place. He confirmed that appropriate legal action would be initiated based on the complaints filed. Dr. Rawat stated that the authorities would ensure the investigation follows due process, and justice would be served to the victims.

Land Frauds in Haldwani are on the Rise

This is one in a long list of land frauds taking place in Haldwani and the surrounding areas, mainly targeting people from the hilly regions who are buying land in the plains. With the rising number of such scams, the locals are now demanding stricter regulations and more stringent checks to prevent further exploitation.
