GATE & JAM 2025 Exam Centers Shifted from Prayagraj to Lucknow Due to Mahakumbh

GATE & JAM 2025 Exam: The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) 2025 and Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2025 exam centers in Prayagraj have been relocated to Lucknow due to the large influx of devotees expected during the Mahakumbh Mela on February 1 and 2.
Why Were Exam Centers Changed?
In a joint statement, IIT Roorkee and IIT Delhi confirmed that candidates raised concerns about reaching the Prayagraj exam centers due to expected crowd congestion during Mahakumbh. Considering these difficulties, the exam centers have now been shifted to Lucknow to ensure a smooth examination process.
Official Announcement and Guidelines
The GATE 2025 exam is scheduled for February 1 and 2.
The JAM 2025 exam will take place on February 2.
All candidates originally assigned to Prayagraj centers will now take their exams in Lucknow as per the same schedule.
New admit cards have been issued, and candidates are advised to check their updated exam centers on the official website.
Instructions for Candidates
Students must visit the official exam portals to check their new centers and download updated admit cards. Candidates are advised to make necessary travel and accommodation arrangements accordingly.
The decision was taken to avoid inconvenience to aspirants due to the large-scale pilgrimage movement in Prayagraj during Mahakumbh 2025.
