George Soros lately was not only named in parliament but also the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party went on a social media troll against him.

George Soros Targets Modi Government Policies The BJP claims that George Soros continually targets the Modi government policies frequently. The party said that Soros never misses an opportunity to criticize such significant government initiatives as the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), the abrogation of Article 370, the Adani Group, and the Indian democracy itself. Moreover, except for Hindénberg, the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) has also raised questions about the Adani Group. Although OCCRP is a publicly funded organization, George Soros is said to donate huge amounts of money to it.

In 2020, George Soros openly opposed the scrapping of Article 370 and the CAA and termed Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership as taking India towards authoritarianism. Now, Soros has become a new agenda in the political corridors, which has raised concerns and debates about his influence and intentions.

George Soros was born on August 12, 1930, in Budapest, Hungary's capital, to a Jewish family. When the Hitler regime began persecuting Jews during World War II, Soros's family altered their identity to stay safe from the atrocities. Following the war, George Soros moved to London and attended the London School of Economics. In London, Soros studied concurrently with working as a railway porter and a club waiter.

In 1956, George Soros emigrated to the United States. By 1973, he founded his own company, Soros Fund Management, establishing himself as one of America's most successful and influential investors. Today, Soros is recognized not only for his investment acumen but also for his philanthropic endeavors. According to Forbes, his net worth exceeds $6.7 billion (approximately ₹56,257 crore), and he has donated over $3.2 billion of his wealth to various causes.

George Soros runs the Open Society Foundations, which is a network of philanthropic organizations committed to democracy, human rights, and social reform all over the world. He has greatly influenced many areas, such as education, public health, and civil liberties. As a result of his philanthropic ventures, Soros is a divisive figure, mainly due to the nationalist and right-wing communities, who find that his influence undermines national sovereignty and traditional values.

Personal Life and Legacy

George Soros is married thrice and has five children, besides reaching 93 years in his life. He got married first to Annaliese Witschak in the year 1960. Since then, he has three children from his current wife. He has appointed his son as the successor and the following generation will take up all the legacies he leaves.
