In Ghaziabad, the traffic police have announced significant changes to heavy vehicle access on GT Road in light of the upcoming Navratri and Ramleela celebrations. Effective from October 3 to October 13, the no-entry window for heavy vehicles has been extended from 10 PM to 1 AM.
Extended No-Entry Hours:
Heavy vehicles will not be allowed on GT Road after 10 PM, with the new cutoff set for 1 AM to manage increased traffic during the festivities.
Crowd Management for Celebrations:
The decision comes as thousands gather annually for the Ramleela performances near Ghantaghar, prompting the need for stricter traffic regulations.
Diverse Traffic Plans:
ADC Traffic Piyush Singh explained that the police have devised a traffic diversion and parking plan around Ghantaghar and Kavimgar Ramleela grounds to handle the anticipated crowd.
Seven Designated Parking Areas:
To accommodate visitors, seven parking zones have been established in the vicinity of the festivities, ensuring smooth traffic flow.
Prohibited Access for Private Vehicles:
During this period, private vehicles will also be restricted from accessing the Ramleela site, with specific routes and parking areas designated for those attending the events.
