Ghaziabad Police Commissioner Suspends SHO Over Child's Body Found in Suitcase

In a major development, Ghaziabad Police Commissioner Ajay Mishra on Tuesday suspended Nivadi SHO Gajendra Singh Bhati after a six-year-old child's body was found in a red suitcase near the Gangnahar canal. The suspension came in late Wednesday night as police failed to identify the child for two days. Bhojpur SHO Prabhudayal has been made in-charge of Nivadi police station, and Ankit Kumar from Wave City station has been posted to Bhojpur.

The incident occurred on Tuesday afternoon when passersby found the suitcase about 400 meters from Gangnahar police outpost. On opening it, police found the body of a boy wearing a red sweater and black pants. The child had a plaster cast on his left arm, and marks on his neck suggested strangulation. Despite efforts, the identity of the boy remains unknown.

Six teams have been constituted to conduct the investigation, and over 200 CCTV footage are being scanned by the police, so far with no leads in the case. Due to plaster on the child's arm, the police are coordinating with the doctors in Ghaziabad and Meerut for any clue. The police also shared pictures of the child with the IMA and appealed to the people for assistance.

The discovery of a dead child near a police outpost raised suspicion about police alertness and efficiency. It has further been confirmed by the additional city police commissioner, Modinagar, Gyan Prakash Rai, about continued investigations to identify the child with full focus to proceed accordingly.
