A grenade blast took place outside a gate of the Army cantonment in Pathankot. This prompted the authorities to sound an alert, police said Monday.
But no casualty was reported in the grenade blast. It took place in front of the Triveni gate of the army cantonment.
As per the Police, some unidentified motorcyclists threw the grenade in front of the military area, and they were verifying CCTV images.
After the blast, an alert has been sounded in the area.
Also, the security has been tightened across the Jammu region after the grenade attack in Pathankot.
The security forces have also set up checkpoints at various places on the Jammu-Pathankot Highway. Vehicles will be thoroughly checked.
Earlier this year, two explosions had rocked the high-security technical area of the Air Force Station in Jammu.
