Hanuman-Shiva Temple Reopens in Sambhal After 30 Years Amid Jai Shri Ram Chants

A landmark move, authorities in Uttar Pradesh's Sambhal district reopened a Hanuman-Shiva temple that was sealed 30 years ago. It reopened the Deepa Sarai area's Hanuman-Shiva temple following reports of alleged encroachment. The police teams inspected the site, cleared the premises, and cleaned the long-abandoned temple. Chants of "Jai Shri Ram" and "Jai Hanuman" echoed through the temple courtyard while reopening it.
Temple Closed for Three Decades
The local residents claimed that the temple had been locked decades ago, and the reason was a very small number of visitors coupled with the migration of Hindu families from the locality. A local elder mentioned that the temple belonged to their ancestors but was deserted, forcing the family to lock it.
High Security Deployment
The deployment of heavy police forces ensured peace as authorities permitted Hindu devotees to resume worship and called for harmony in the community. This is being interpreted by local Hindus as the symbolic restoration of their cultural heritage through the opening of the temple.
