A group of youths went on a rampage in the BHEL area of Haridwar, doing car stunts and firing shots into the air. The videos of the incident went viral on social media, and SSP Pramendra Singh Dobal immediately took action. Police in Ranipur registered an FIR against 70 unidentified individuals and have started an investigation using the viral footage.

What Happened?

Reports said that a group of prominent students of the Ranipur School was behind this incident. As they all met near the BHEL stadium, they came on to the roads in convoy and were involved in some open firing in the air while they performed some stunt shows and this disturbed public peace.


Police Started Taking Action

SSP Dobal took cognizance of the matter himself and directed strict action. SI Devendra Pal lodged a complaint against 60-70 youths for violating public safety and model code of conduct. Police are identifying the accused from the viral videos.

Accountability Assured

In-charge of Kotwali Kamal Mohan Bhandari said that once their identities are confirmed, legal actions will be initiated against them. SSP Dobal stated that such acts that threaten public order cannot be tolerated, and severe action will be taken against all involved.
