IED Blast Near LoC in Jammu’s Akhnoor: An Improvised Explosive Device (IED) blast near the Line of Control (LoC) in Akhnoor, Jammu, has led to the martyrdom of two Indian soldiers. The blast occurred during a search operation near the fencing in the Laleli area. The White Knight Corps of the Indian Army has confirmed the incident, and a search operation is underway in the region.

What Happened in Akhnoor?

Terrorist Attack Suspected
Officials reported that the IED blast occurred near Bhattal village when soldiers were on patrol duty near the LoC. Initial investigations suggest that the explosive was planted by terrorists to target security personnel. Following the explosion, the entire area has been sealed off to prevent further attacks.

Mortar Shell Found in Akhnoor

In a separate incident, a mortar shell was discovered in Namander village near the Pratap Canal in Akhnoor. Local residents spotted the shell and alerted the police, after which the Bomb Disposal Squad successfully defused it.

Pakistan’s Involvement and Rising Threat in Jammu Region

After facing major setbacks in Kashmir, Pakistan-backed terror groups are now trying to target the Jammu region. Recently, terrorists attempted to infiltrate the LoC in Rajouri’s Keri sector, but Indian forces successfully foiled their attempt.

Terrorists' Weapons Cache Discovered

In another anti-terror operation in Baramulla, security forces recovered a large stockpile of weapons and ammunition, including:

Three AK-47 rifles

11 magazines and 292 rounds of ammunition
One under-barrel grenade launcher
Nine grenades and several hand grenades
These weapons were hidden inside a hollow deodar tree in the Uri sector’s Anganpathri forest.

Security Forces on High Alert

The recent IED blast, infiltration attempts, and arms recovery indicate that terrorist groups are planning more attacks in the Jammu region. Indian security forces are on high alert and conducting intensive search operations to eliminate potential threats.

The sacrifice of the brave soldiers in Akhnoor will not be forgotten, and the nation stands in solidarity with the armed forces.
