In a significant move to enhance agricultural support, Gujarat has launched the Agristack project to link farmers' land records with a unique Farmer ID. This initiative, similar to the Aadhaar system, aims to provide transparency, efficiency, and timely benefits to farmers under various state and central government schemes.
What Is the Unique Farmer ID?
As part of the Farmer Registry, which began on October 15, every registered farmer will receive an 11-digit Unique Farmer ID. This ID will consolidate all information related to the farmer, including land details, making it easier to access benefits from welfare programs.
How It Benefits Farmers
Through this ID, farmers can avail themselves of state and central government schemes in a more streamlined, transparent, and efficient manner. With over 2.5 lakh farmers already registered, the project is well underway. The Gujarat government aims to complete the registration of all farmers by March 25, 2025, as per directives from the Government of India.

Mandatory Registration for PM-Kisan Scheme Beneficiaries
Farmers receiving benefits under the PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana must complete their Farmer Registry before November 25, 2024. Failure to do so may delay or disrupt the disbursement of the next installment, scheduled for December 2024. Farmers are urged to act promptly to ensure their eligibility for the scheme.
Challenges in the Registration Process
Currently, the Farmer Registry Portal is facing some technical issues, which has temporarily halted the registration process. Authorities are actively working to resolve these glitches to enable seamless registration for all farmers.
