On the 75th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi conveyed his wishes to the entire nation.
Speaking from the Red Fort, hailing the Tokyo Olympics participants, Mr Modi greeted the athletes who made India proud with their great achievements.
On the day of August 15th, the Indian Prime Minister remembered the sacrifices of all freedom fighters and how they fought valiantly against all odds.
As India emerges from the deadly second wave of coronavirus, this Independence Day, the country salutes its heroes– soldiers, doctors and all those who worked effortlessly to save lives.
Highlighting the importance of 15 August 2021, PM Modi said that 75th Independence Day should not be merely a ceremony but we have to march with new pledges for the next 25 years.
Indian PM Modi also stressed that we have to meet our goal of building Aatmanirbhar Bharat–to mark 100 years of India’s Independence.

For the same, he gave out a call for ‘Sabka Prayas’ along with ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas’ for building a ‘New India.’
On the pandemic front, Mr Modi highlighting the strength and patience of Indians in fighting against the coronavirus said, “We had many challenges but we worked with extraordinary pace in every area. It’s a result of the strength of our industrialists and scientists that today India doesn’t need to depend on any other nation for vaccines.”
To honour the pain and suffering faced during the partition, Mr Modi has also declared August 14 to be observed as “Partition Horrors Remembrance Day.”
On preserving the precious resource, water, he said that over 4.5 crore new households have received piped water supply within two years of ‘Jal Jeevan Mission’.
Also, seventy-five Vande Bharat trains will connect every corner of India in 75 weeks of Amrit Mahotsav of Independence.
Moreover, PM Modi did not forget to mention how India is fighting challenges of terrorism and expansionism with greater courage.
He also pointed out how even during the pandemic India has been receiving its highest foreign investment with its forex reserves being at an all-time high.
