India Thursday recorded 3.14 lakh new COVID-19 cases. This is the world’s biggest-ever daily surge. Now the caseload stands at 1.59 crore. India is struggling with a shortage of medical oxygen, hospital beds and Remdesivir too.
However, the centre has been assuring that oxygen demand and supply is being monitored round the clock.
Delhi High Court also grilled the Centre over its inability Wednesday.
It asked Centre harsh questions about why it was not waking up to reality. How could the government be so oblivious to the reality on the ground? You can’t have people die because there is no oxygen, the court noted.
Moreover, Maharashtra remains the worst-hit state by COVID-19. The Uddhav Thackeray-led government has announced new coronavirus curbs in order to break the chain of the deadly virus.
