India recorded Friday 4,14,188 new coronavirus cases. Now the country’s total tally of COVID-19 cases climbed to 2,14,91,598.
While the active cases crossed the 36-lakh mark, as per the Union Health Ministry data. The active cases have increased to 36,45,164. However, the national COVID-19 recovery rate has dropped to 81.95 per cent.
The number of people who have recuperated from the coronavirus disease surges to 1,76,12,351 now.
Moreover, India’s coronavirus case fatality rate was recorded at 1.09 per cent, the data shows.
India had crossed the grim milestone of 2 crore on May 4. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has also chaired a meeting to review the overall COVID-19 situation in the country.
Discussions took place over the progress of ongoing Covid-19 vaccination, availability of essential drugs the scaling up of vaccine production.
