India on Wednesday reported 92,596 new COVID-19 cases and 2,219 deaths. The positivity rate stands at 4.67 per cent. It was the second straight day that India reported a positivity rate below 5 per cent.
Delhi also reported 316 new cases in the last 24 hours. Among India’s northeastern states, Tripura added most COVID-19 cases in a day at 625. Manipur reported most deaths at 12.
Moreover, the centre has ordered 44 crore doses of Covid-19 vaccines, which will be available from August. These doses will be delivered between August and December 2021, the Union Health Ministry says.

Furthermore, the central government on June 8, 2021, released revised guidelines to ensure free vaccination of the people living in the states across the country.
The new guidelines come hours after Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweaked the COVID-19 vaccination policy and announced to provide free doses to the states for the free vaccination of all above 18 years.
